Seychelles has been voted among the top 10 in the category of 'Island Destinations in The World' in the annual consumer survey conducted by Conde Nast Traveller ' U.K.
This survey is carried out to establish the travellers' choice in travel options worldwide. The October 2004 issue pays tribute to the top 100 winners for the best in the Destination, Accommodation and Transport categories.
Seychelles is ranked eighth in the 'Top 20 Islands In The World' with a score of 90.28. Bali was voted first in the category with 94.65, followed by Phuket (93.20) in second place and the Maldives (92.78) in third place. Neighboring Mauritius lies in fifth place (91.08).
In the category 'Best Beaches In The World', Seychelles tops the list with 98.40 ahead of Mauritius (95) and Barbados (94.55).
Seychelles is again featured in the 'Overseas Leisure Hotels' category, with two of its five-star resorts in the top 20 for Africa, Indian Ocean and Middle East region - Frégate Island Private (91.12) scores a sixth place whilst North Island (84.62) takes the tenth position.
The top three preferred hotels in this category for that region are Singita Private Game Reserve in South Africa (97.08), Soneva Fushi Resort and Spa in Maldives (95.85) and Taj Exotica Resort and Spa in Maldives (93.75).
